The Real Deal’s 2026 NYC Forum Agenda

As a new phase of the cycle takes shape, New York’s real estate players are no longer waiting on the sidelines — they’re making moves. Capital is returning, pricing expectations are resetting and long-stalled deals are finally getting done.

But this is not a uniform recovery. The office market remains deeply divided, with top-tier assets stabilizing while older buildings face mounting pressure to reposition or convert. Residential, meanwhile, is defined by constraint — limited inventory, stubbornly high borrowing costs, and a growing gap between supply and demand.

In this environment, the question isn’t whether the market is coming back — it’s who is best positioned to capitalize on its new rules.

That’s why we’re thrilled to be back at Metropolitan Pavilion in Midtown on May 6, where we’ll bring some of the industry’s top names to the stage for our annual NYC Forum. The doors open at 10 a.m. and programming kicks off at 11 a.m., starting with a fireside chat from Jeff T. Blau.

As CEO of Related Companies, Blau is a driving force of New York City’s urban transformation. In this exclusive fireside chat, he will break down the city’s economic outlook, from the evolution of Hudson Yards to the public-private partnerships driving new housing. He will also address how emerging assets like data centers are shifting the landscape and how developers navigate the complex intersection of financing, politics and construction in the current market.

Throughout the day, TRD’s forum will break down the market, from unlocking the development pipeline for more housing to what the consolidation in residential real estate holds for brokers and agents going forward. We’ll also hear from developers going beyond Manhattan for opportunities and how the rules of the office market are being reshaped to future-proof demand.

Notable names stepping onto the stage include Bally’s Chairman Soo Kim; CBRE Chairman of Global Brokerage Stephen Siegel; Brown Harris Stevens CEO Bess Freedman; President and CEO of The Corcoran Group Pamela Liebman; Charney Companies’ Sam Charney, and more to be announced.

Returning this year is the Power Breakfast event with Maggie Wu, founder of the W Team at Compass; Peter Zaitzeff, Sales Director, New Development for Serhant, and Samir Mezrahi of Zillow Gone Wild.

It’s all happening Wednesday, May 6. Make sure to get your tickets today.
