🏆 Commercial: The priciest commercial deal to hit records was on the Upper West Side, where a 90-unit multifamily building at 698 West End Avenue traded for $42 million. The property stands 15 stories tall and spans about 91,500 square feet. The buyer was an affiliate of Benchmark Real Estate Group. The seller, 698 D Realty LLC, had owned the property for decades.
🏆 Residential: The Upper East Side had the top home sale recorded in the city. Thomas and Ingrid Edelman parted with a co-op and a staff unit at 775 Park Avenue for $16.3 million. The buyer was a trust tied to James Sterne. Thomas Edelman co-founded White Deer Energy, a private equity firm, and Ingrid Edelman is an interior designer. The co-op is a duplex with five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms across 5,000 square feet. John Burger with Brown Harris Stevens had the listing, which went live in September for $18 million.
📊 Residential: Jonathan and Eve Schenk parted with a condo at 109 East 79th Street on the Upper East Side for $16.3 million. The buyer was a trust. The Schenks had owned the 3,100-square-foot pad since 2022, when they purchased it for $9.9 million. The latest sale breaks down to roughly $5,300 per square foot.
📊 Residential: Louise Riggio, widow of Barnes & Noble founder Leonard Riggio, shed a co-op at 720 Park Avenue in Lenox Hill for $14.9 million. The buyer was a trust. The unit has five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. It measures about 4,600 square feet, pricing the sale at roughly $1,800 per square foot. Douglas Elliman’s Thomas Aabo and Dustin Crouse had the listing. The unit has been on the market since August 2024, when it was listed for $9.5 million.
