There’s a chance you’ll get mail addressed to actress Meg Ryan if you buy her farmhouse in the Hamptons.
The star of timeless romantic comedies such as “You’ve Got Mail,” “When Harry Met Sally…” and “Sleepless in Seattle” listed her Bridgehampton property for $15.2 million, the New York Post reported. The address of her home hasn’t been publicly disclosed, but information from the Post appears to match listing information for 53 Matthews Lane.
The Real Deal reached out to Compass’ Evan Kulman, who has the listing at 53 Matthews Lane, for confirmation. We did not immediately hear back.
Ryan bought the property two years ago for $13.5 million, meaning she’s only hunting a slight markup in a quick sale.
The listing for the 5,000-square-foot home breaks down to $3,050 per square foot. It’s situated on an acre and a half and comes with four bedrooms, five fireplaces and a covered porch with an outdoor fireplace. The primary suite has a sitting area and a steam shower.
Other features of the home include a five-zone heating and cooking geothermal system, a heated Gunite pool and a high-tech security system. There’s also a secondary living area with its own bedroom, kitchenette and gym.
While her acting career slowed down after the 1990s, her real estate trades have kept Ryan in the news. In 2014, she bought a loft in Soho from fellow actor Hank Azaria for $8 million, selling it three years later for $10 million. She also bought an apartment at Tribeca’s 443 Greenwich Street in 2017 for $9.4 million.
On the opposite coast, Ryan sold an estate in Montecito last year for $16.8 million, four years after purchasing it for $9.5 million. The actress needed to reduce the asking price multiple times before moving the Montecito home.
Ryan’s listing of her Bridgehampton estate may seem more palatable to buyers compared to the East End’s priciest availabilities. That list includes 39 Fairfield Pond Lane in Sagaponack, which PointState Capital founder Zach Schreiber just listed for $152.5 million, seeking a record sum.
