Blondshell Shares ‘Two Times’ From ‘If You Asked For A Picture’ Album

The record will appear on If You Asked For A Picture, out May 2

Blondshell tries adjusting to a new and unfamiliar normal on “Two Times,” the latest single from her forthcoming album If You Asked For A Picture, out May 2. The record arrives alongside a lyric video that finds the singer lounging around the studio, willing herself to accept the warmth of a relationship without looking over her shoulder for whatever unfortunate truths might derail it.

“You’d be a good dad/You carried me to the bed/You carried me to the car/When I got sick/What the hell is wrong/With my head/Sometimes it feels like you’re not enough/’Cause you’re not self centered,” Blondshell sings. “How bad does it have to hurt to count/Does it have to hurt at all/I’ll come back if you put me down two times/You try hard to make me yours/But once you get me I get bored/I’ll come back if you put me down two times.”

In a statement about the record, the musician shared: “I feel like I’m always seeing movies and shows where conflict is the only way love is expressed. It’s a lot of stories where someone has to work really hard to get somebody else to love them, and that’s what seems to make the relationship valuable. This song was basically like, what if it’s just solid? What if it’s just good and the relationship’s healthy? Does that mean it is less valuable? I think that’s a painful question because it’s essentially asking how capable you are of being in a decent relationship. But it’s also a love song in that way.”

Blondshell previously previewed If You Asked For A Picture with the singles “What’s Fair” and “T&A.” The 12-track project marks her first full-length LP since sharing her self-titled debut album in 2023. “The first record feels really black-and-white to me,” she said about the album. “This record has more questions.”
