Fort Plain’s Christmas at the Fort Set for Saturday

Fort Plain MuseumFort Plain MuseumChristmas at the Fort will be held this Saturday, December 7, 2024. The Fort Plain Museum Complex will be open for the last time in 2024 from 10 am until 4 pm with a cookie contest, vendors, food, music, basket raffles, a quilt raffle, and Palatine living history in the Hartmann’s Dorf House. The event features  a Local Author Book Fair, from 11 am  until 5 pm.

To participate in the cookie contest, bake your best batch of cookies and bring them to the Badgley Museum Complex before 11:30 am and let the people decide if you have the best cookies. Visitors will be able to taste the cookies and vote on their favorites.

Bakers, we will be dividing your cookies up into smaller pieces for visitors to taste but please bring enough to go around. Please either come with a list of ingredients or be prepared to give one to staff at drop-off for allergy purposes.

The Sass Squash food truck will be on site with some warm food to fuel you through the festivities planned throughout the village.

There will be live historical music throughout the day in the Fort.

Living historians will have Hartmann’s Dorf open with a fire to keep you warm while you learn about how the Palatines lived at this time of year.

There will be over ten different baskets with prizes for you to win. This means there are lots of chances and a little bit of something for everyone. You will not need to be present to win.

Saturday will be the last day to purchase raffle tickets for a locally-made quilt.

Fort Plain Museum is located at 389 Canal Street, in Fort Plain, NY.
