YouTube Adds More Insights and Management Options to Channel Pages
YouTube’s looking to make it easier for creators to access more management elements via their Channel page in the app, as opposed to having to go via YouTube Studio for full functionality.
You’ll still have to use YouTube Studio for advanced functions, like full creation, scheduling, and analytics. But soon, you’ll also be able to access more of these elements via your Channel overview as well, giving you more options to manage your YouTube presence.
First off, YouTube’s looking to streamline the Channel set-up process for new creators.
As per YouTube:
“Rather than starting with all tabs, new creators will now start with a simple Channel experience, with no tabs displayed. Tabs will be added automatically when new content types are created.”
That could make it easier to understand the various display elements, and where each of your videos will be housed in your Channel overview.
YouTube says that the goal is to provide a simplified experience to help users create and manage content on the channel page within the YouTube main app.
YouTube’s also adding the ability for creators to see their public-facing subscriber list from their Channel page, while it’ll also soon display all of your videos within your Channel listing, including public, private, and unlisted content.
As you can see in this example, you’ll also be able to see content and drafts as well, giving you a more comprehensive overview within the Channel display.
You can view these within YouTube Studio, but again, this will give users another way to access more of the same features within Channels.
Finally, YouTube’s also adding its “Data Stories” top-level analytics insights to Channel pages.
As you can see in this example, Data Stories are essentially analytics highlights, with YouTube’s system working to keep creators up to date on the most important metric shifts.
Data Stories have been available within YouTube Analytics back in 2022, and soon, they’ll be available in the main app as well, adding another means to stay on top of key channel updates.
These could be some handy additions, enabling creators to stay on top of their channel via both the main app and YouTube Studio, and alerting them to key changes in audience behavior. So if you don’t open Analytics one day, you’ll still be made aware of the latest, while you’ll also be able to better manage your clips.
YouTube says that these updates are being rolled out to creators soon.
