This session from the 2026 Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) conference brought the academic world and the professional world together to discuss how the industry is changing as a result of the new energy post-covid graduates are bringing, especially as it relates to questions of how we cast queer roles and engage with that casting in a world where so many (if not most!) students graduating from undergraduate theatre institutions identify as queer.
The conversation was moderated by John DiResta and featured Ashley Malafronte, Barbie Wu, Bo Frazier, Sarah Gitenstein, and Stevie Walker-Webb.
