New Snapdragon 8s Elite detailed, seen powering the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro
A few days ago, we came across a report that iQOO is working on four Z10 phones: Z10, Z10x, Z10 Turbo and Z10 Turbo Pro. That last one, the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro, is interesting because it will allegedly use the Snapdragon 8s Elite, a new entry into the more affordable 8s series of chips by Qualcomm.
And this may be it – the vivo V2453A ran Geekbench 6.1.0 with an unknown new chip. It has one core at 3.21GHz, three cores at 3.01GHz, two at 2.80GHz and two more at 2.02GHz. Even more interesting is the GPU, Adreno 825, according to the benchmark. This lines up perfectly with Digital Chat Station’s description of the 8s Elite (SM8735).

Here is how it compares against the premium Snapdragon 8 Elite:
Snapdragon | 8s Gen 3 | 8s Elite | 8 Elite |
---|---|---|---|
Node | 4nm | ? | 3nm |
CPU, prime | 1x Cortex-X4 @ 3.0GHz | 1x Cortex-X4 @ 3.21GHz | 2x Oryon @ 4.32GHz |
CPU, medium | 4x Cortex-A720 @ 2.8GHz | 3x Cortex-A720 @ 3.01GHz 2x Cortex-A720 @ 2.80GHz |
6x Oryon @ 3.53GHz |
CPU, small | 3x Cortex-A520 @ 2.0GHz | 2x Cortex-A520 @ 2.02GHz | – |
GPU | Adreno 735 | Adreno 825 | Adreno 830 |
Note that the 8s Elite does not use the Oryon cores that were developed in-house by Qualcomm but still features the ARM-designed cores that were used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 generation. However, there is a boost to CPU clock speed and one more middle core (at the cost of one small core). Also, the Adreno 825 GPU is from the same generation as the Elite chip (and not a 700 series GPU).
The iQOO Z10 Turbo also hit Geekbench (vivo V2452A), this one appears to use the Dimensity 8400. Currently, only two MediaTek chips use the Mali-G720: the Dimensity 9300 and the 8400. The CPU clock speeds make it clear that this is the latter – it has eight Cortex-A725 cores (a rare homogeneous CPU), with one running at 3.25GHz, three at 3.0GHz and four at 2.1GHz.

The iQOO Z10 Turbo and the Z10 Turbo Pro ran Android 15 and the units that were tested both have 12GB of RAM.
The post by DCS suggests that besides iQOO, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will also be used by Xiaomi for future Redmi models. The first 8s Elite based phones should start showing up in April.
