Real Estate Getting Drama Treatment With Hulu Series

Real estate’s dramatics know no bounds, which will be on full display with a forthcoming Hulu series.

George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth are executive producing “The Pinnacle” at the streaming series, Deadline reported. The drama is being written by Damon Cardasis, who has been nominated for multiple awards.

The series — which licenses content from The Real Deal in its pilot — is set in New York City and follows the journey of a man who becomes exposed to the upper class while serving as a sobriety companion to the son of a wealthy family that lives on Billionaires’ Row. Further character details haven’t been shared, but the series will unfold in the real estate realm.

Another real estate drama was in the works at Hulu recently. Edgar Ramirez and Jacob Scipio were to play rival developers and former partners who battled for control of Manhattan’s famed skyline. That series, however, is no longer moving forward.

There’s a rich history of real estate television, particularly in the reality genre, where shows such as “Selling Sunset” and “Million Dollar Listing” have turned brokers and industry figures into celebrity stars.

There’s also a growing wealth of dramatizations on the screen in real estate.

Netflix show “Dead to Me,” running for three seasons, starred Christina Applegate as a Laguna Beach real estate agent looking for her husband’s killer in between house showings. In 2024, Jeff Daniels starred in “A Man in Full” on Netflix, playing an Atlanta real estate developer trying to hold his empire together after being faced with bankruptcy.

And on the silver screen, movies such as “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “The Big Short” have real estate as a central focus. Not to mention another 2024 entry, “The Apprentice,” which saw Sebastian Stan portray a young Donald Trump as he embarked on the start of his real estate career, flanked by infamous lawyer Roy Cohn (played by Jeremy Strong).
