Champlain Canal Stories – New York Almanack

The Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership (CVNHP) has named the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library the winner of its 2024 Director’s Award.
The Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library utilized a 2023 CVNHP Special Project grant to develop 27 short videos interpreting the Champlain Canal during its bicentennial year.
The videos complement the previous successes of the Folklife Center to showcase and highlight the Battenkill and Lake George.
These projects collectively encourage a broader appreciation and better understanding of the interconnected waterways of the national heritage area.
Representatives of the CVNHP — which has awarded $2.3 million in National Park Service grants since 2008 — will be on hand this Wednesday to present the award at the library’s November board meeting. A reception will be held beforehand at 4 pm.
All 27 videos from Champlain Canal Stories are available on the Folklife Center’s YouTube page.
