Adirondack Railway Preservation Society Names New Leader
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS), the esteemed operator of the Adirondack Railroad and Adirondack Railbike Adventures, has announced the appointment of Amanda Hill as its new General Manager, effective January 1, 2025. Hill was chosen from rose among more than 60 applicants, a press release from ARPS said.
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization with main offices in Utica, New York. Since 1992 it has provided a rail excursions for more than 1.8 million passengers, operating on the former New York Central Railroad‘s Adirondack Division rail lines in Upstate New York and the Adirondacks.
A portion of ARPS’s line, that between Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, is being converted into the Adirondack Rail Trail.
