Poetry: Stickball – New York Almanack
Stickball
Commandeer a side street
In the city with
Little or no traffic
Chalk the bases and home plate
Onto the street pavement
Get a broom handle and
A live rubber ball
Choose up sides and
You’re ready to play
Stickball
