Historic Glen Conservancy Hall Offering Live Music Series


Glen Conservancy Hall is a historic community arts and cultural center located in the hamlet of Glen, in Montgomery County, NY.
Originally built in 1830 as a meeting house for the True Dutch Reformed Church, it is a key structure in the Glen National Register Historic District and is today managed by The Glen Conservancy, a non-profit dedicated to preserving the hamlet’s rural character and historic architecture.
The Conservancy has been awarded a 2026 Community Arts Regrant from Saratoga Arts to fund a series of live musical events in the acoustically splendid hall offering musical styles ranging from folk and blues to classical, many of them from local and neighboring counties.
Dan Berggren will open the season on May 17 at 3 pm with his program, “Strong Songs – Adirondack Roots.” Berggren are in Irishtown, Essex County, in the Adirondacks, where he was raised, but his music has branched out across New York, from Vermont to Michigan, Kentucky to Texas, and overseas in Europe, the British Isles and even Central Africa.
Sara Milonovich & Daisycutter will perform May 31, at 3 pm. Milonovich is a fiddler, singer, and guitarist, as well as a songwriter. She’s an award-winning performer whose indie alt-grass band Daisycutter has performed throughout the US, Europe, and beyond with a unique blend of roots, folk-rock, bluegrass, and Appalachian music. The concert will be a preview of songs from her new album to be released this fall.
Kent, Nannette, and Esther Knappenberger with John Kirk and Trish Miller will perform on July 12, at 3 pm. Harp, flute, mandolin, guitar, mountain dulcimer, fiddle, banjo, and dance, presented masterfully by two families representing decades of old-time music, traditional tunes, originals and witty presentations to entertain all ages.
The Caroga Arts Collective will return on August 2, at 3 pm to offer a salon-style concert from a variety of classical artists drawn from the renowned Caroga Lake Festival, introducing and presenting popular works for chamber ensemble.
Piedmont Bluz, Valerie and Benedict Turner, will offer their Piedmont picking style on August 23, at 3 pm. This acoustic duo are ambassadors of Country Blues music and roots percussion. They bring awareness to these unique aspects of African-American culture, while weaving in a bit of history.
Closing the season on September 27 at 3 pm will be area favorite Kevin McKrell. Folk singer, songwriter, and artist, Kevin McKrell was a founding member of Celtic Folk band Donnybrook Fair and the internationally renowned Celtic Bluegrass band The McKrells. He has performed in theaters, clubs and on festival stages across the United States, Canada , Ireland and the UK.
