Reminiscences of Balls‑Town Highlight Women’s Contributions

Amy Shannon is an author who writes about local history of the families and community life of Balls‑Town (Ballston Spa and Malta, in Saratoga County).
Shannon’s newest work, Reminiscences of Balls‑Town: Echoes and Whispers of Forgotten Legacies, highlights the stories of pioneer women whose contributions were often undocumented. The book grew from her research and cemetery tours at Dunning Street Cemetery and the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.
She also has a YouTube playlist, History Comes Alive where she shares research, readings, and more.
Amy Shannon is also the author of Balls‑Town: A Community of History, Friends, Neighbors, and Lingering Spirits; and Balls‑Town: A Pioneer’s Cookbook, which reflects the foods families prepared based on what they had available.
Shannon’s cousin, Schenectady County Historian Bill Buell, wrote the foreword for Reminiscences.
